That is why these mini apple pie bites are a fabulous recipe adaptation. They do not take all day to prepare and you get all those delicious flavors warm apple pie offers.

These dainty apple pie bites are the perfect snack sized dessert. Serve them as a sweet-treat alongside some vanilla bean ice cream. Or enjoy them as a breakfast pastry with some hot coffee or tea.

Apple Pie Bites with Crescent Rolls Recipe

Ingredients

  • Granny Smith Apples
  • Butter
  • Brown Sugar
  • Cinnamon or Apple Pie Spice
  • Crescent Rolls
  • Pecans

How to Make Apple Pie Bites

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees and cut the apple with a knife or preferably an apple cutter like Oxo good grips, cut into 8 wedges and remove the core. Next slice apple wedges in half to make thin slices. Lastly, pour melted butter into a bowl add the sliced apples and toss to coat. Set aside.
  2. In a small bowl, combine brown sugar & cinnamon, set aside. Cover a baking sheet with parchment paper open the canned crescent rolls and separate each triangle. Lay rolls out flat onto the baking sheet.
  3. Top each triangle of dough evenly with the brown sugar mixture and chopped pecans. Place two thin apple slices on its side on the wide end of the crescent roll. Roll the dough around the apple.
  4. Brush each roll with the remaining melted butter and sprinkle with a small amount of cinnamon or Apple pie spice. Bake at 375 degrees for 10-14 minutes until golden brown.

Recipe Notes

Slicing apples, I love to slice apples with my Oxo good grips apple cutter. This convenient kitchen gadget makes cutting and removing apple cores a breeze.

After I remove the core of the apple and have perfect even apple wedges, I then like to take a knife and slice the apple wedge in half.

That way, apples are thin and easy to roll.

Make ahead, Prepare and roll ahead cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 2 hours max. Any longer apple pie bites will become soggy.

Make Apple pie bites with pie crust, All you do is roll out pie crust or dough using a biscuit cutter or top of a glass.

Cut about 6 pieces approximately 2.5 inches in diameter and place pie crust in the bottom of a muffin tin filling 6 cups.

Chop fresh apples or use a can of apple pie filling. Add cinnamon sugar and pecans to the bottom of each apple cup and top with chopped apples or apple pie filling.

Sprinkle any remaining cinnamon sugar mixture over top and bake mini apple pie cups in the oven at 425 degrees for 15-20 minutes.

Make these Apple Pie Bites with Apple Pie Filling. Grab one can of Apple Pie Filling and two cans of Pillsbury Crescent Rolls. Place crescent rolls in a muffin tin & add one heaping spoonful of apple pie filling on top of each crescent roll, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar mixture add pecans and pull the edges of the crescent rolls up and over the pie filling. Bake in the oven until golden brown.

Make Apple dumplings with frozen apples, Cook frozen apples on the stove, add butter, cinnamon and brown sugar and cook until the sauce is bubbling.

Drain any liquid from sauteed apples and mix together water and cornstarch then add mixture back to the pot with drained apples.

Cook for one more minute until the apple pie mixture is thickened. Measure about 1 tablespoon per crescent roll, fold in the sides and bake in the oven until golden brown.
