How to Make Ham and Cheese Sliders
- Preheat the oven – to 350 degrees and coat a baking pan with Pam non-stick cooking spray or line sheet pan with parchment paper.
- Assemble ham and Swiss sliders – Cut Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally (Do Not Break Apart!). Layer half cheese slices on the bottom layer of rolls, all thinly sliced ham and add the last layer of cheese on top of the ham. Add top buns and cover loosely with aluminum foil.
- Bake in the oven – at 350 degrees for 15-30 minutes or until cheese is melted. If you are making sliders with a different kind of cheese cooking time varies. My ham and Swiss cheese sliders only took 15 minutes for the cheese to melt.
- Prepare the glaze sauce – In a small bowl, melt butter in the microwave and add all other ingredients. Whisk glaze sauce until all ingredients are combined and set aside.
- Take Sliders out of the oven – and remove aluminum foil. Pour glaze sauce evenly over-top of rolls and brush sauce evenly on Hawaiian rolls. Brush sauce into each crease and bake sliders uncovered for 5-10 minutes, or until golden browned. Serve immediately with your favorite sides!
Recipe Notes,
For crispy, buttery, flaky rolls, Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and do not spray with cooking spray.
Parchment paper not only keeps your pan clean but it helps the rolls to stay crisp on the bottom.
I pour the glaze sauce over-top Hawaiian rolls after they bake in the oven covered with aluminum foil.
Then, I like to brush sauce evenly on top of rolls and brush glaze into each crease.
After the glaze sauce is evenly spread onto rolls, return sliders to the oven and bake until golden browned.
I like baking these mini sandwiches this way to ensure the bottom bun doesn’t get soggy and the top of the rolls are buttery, sticky, sweet and savory.
How to reheat ham and cheese sliders, glazed ham and cheese sliders are best eaten right away.
However, if you find that you have left overs remaining, heat the oven to 350 degrees and place sliders in a pan loosely covered with aluminum foil.
Reheat ham and cheese sliders in the oven, for 10-20 minutes until sliders are heated throughout.
