Cherry cheesecake dip is an indulgent dessert dip that tastes like classic cheesecake topped with cherries, but only takes minutes to whip together.

Just like traditional cheesecake, this no-bake cherry cheesecake dip is not overly sweet and is made without marshmallow fluff.

No baking or slicing is involved–just combine the cheesecake dip ingredients, top it with cherries and serve it with graham crackers for dipping. It’s that easy.

And wow, is it delicious!

Really, cherry cheesecake dip is the ultimate crowd-pleaser.

It’s perfect for serving at parties, potlucks, family game nights or wherever a dessert dip would be enjoyed.

Tips for Making Cherry Cheesecake Dip without Marshmallow Fluff

  • This dip is perfect for parties since you can prepare the cream cheese layer a few hours ahead of time and put it in the refrigerator until ready to serve. For best results, scoop the cherries on top just before serving.
  • To make another flavor, just swap the cherry pie filling for another flavor like blueberry or strawberry. My recipe for blueberry compote with frozen blueberries is a delicious topping, as well.
  • For a more authentic cheesecake flavor, skip the marshmallow fluff that some recipes call for and use powdered sugar instead. It will save you a little money and you’ll also avoid the corn syrup and artificial flavors in the marshmallow cream.

Ingredients

This cherry cheesecake dip recipe is made with all the same ingredients as a classic cheesecake dessert, except the eggs.

  • Cream Cheese
  • Sour Cream
  • Powdered Sugar
  • Vanilla Extract
  • Lemon Juice
  • Heavy Cream (optional for a thinner dip)
  • Cherry Pie Filling

Cream Cheese: Use cream cheese that comes in a brick, not the spreadable type. To make a lighter dip, you can use 1/3 reduced-fat cream cheese.

Powdered Sugar: My recipe replaces marshmallow fluff in other recipes with powdered sugar.

And I prefer powdered sugar instead of granulated sugar since it’s pulverized and makes a smoother dip. According to Betty Crocker, powdered sugar also contains a little cornstarch.

Lemon Juice: Don’t skip the lemon juice! The acidity balances the sweetness and adds a little brightness to this dessert dip.

I recommend using fresh lemon juice for its strong flavor and not bottled concentrate.

Cherry Pie Filling: Use your favorite brand of cherry pie filling. For this dessert dip, make sure the filling is already sweetened.

How to Make Cherry Cheesecake Dip

Mix the cream cheese. Allow the cream cheese and sour cream to come to room temperature. Using a hand mixer, whip the cream cheese and sour cream together until the mixture is soft and fluffy.

Add in the sugar, vanilla and lemon juice. Mix for 1 minute, until the dip is smooth. For a thinner dip, add in a small amount of heavy whipping cream or vanilla yogurt.

Spread the cheesecake dip in a shallow dish. I like to serve this dessert dip in a pie dish. Use glass if you want to see the layers in the dip.

Scoop cherry pie filling on top. Pour the cherries on top of the dip in an even layer. I like to leave and edge of the cheesecake layer showing, but you can completely cover it if you want.

For a lighter dip, try to this yogurt and cream cheese fruit dip served with fresh fruit.

Dippers for Cherry Cheesecake Dip

Graham crackers are the obvious choice of dippers for cheesecake dip. I mean, who doesn’t love cheesecake with a graham cracker crust?

But don’t think you can only serve this dip with graham crackers.

Some other tasty dipper options are chocolate graham crackers, vanilla wafers, gingersnaps and Biscoff cookies (my favorite).

For a sweet and salty combo, you can even serve this dip with pretzel chips.
