Make dill pickle dip using refrigerated pickles from a jar for the best dip.
  • Use Philadelphia cream cheese brick. I made this dip with Philadelphia cream cheese and it was amazing! For a lower-fat version just use reduced fat cream cheese. However, regular cream cheese makes the dip turn out extra rich and creamy.
  • Allow cream cheese to soften. Set cream cheese out at room temperature for about an hour. Cream cheese will blend easily and be lump free.
  • Add sour cream. Sour cream is what makes this cream cheese pickle dip velvety smooth so chips and other dippers glide right through it.
  • Try these dill pickle dip with cream cheese variations. Try this cream cheese pickle dip with chopped parsley, shredded cheddar cheese, dried beef, diced deli ham, and my personal favorite….add a dry ranch seasoning mix! The taste is zesty and tastes similar to fried pickles. Yum!

Cream cheese blended with sour cream and pickle juice is nice and smooth for easy dipping.

Dill Pickles & Pickle Juice: Any brand of dill pickles will do, but I like refrigerated whole dill pickles since they are nice and crisp for chopping. You will also use some of the pickle juice from the jar. It adds the perfect amount of pickle taste for all my pickle lovers!

Cream Cheese: I prefer the Philadelphia brand of cream cheese that comes in a brick. For a lighter dip use a reduced-fat cream cheese.

Sour Cream: Sour cream helps make this dish extra creamy and delicious. For a lighter dip use a reduced-fat sour cream.

Garlic Powder: Powdered garlic adds a zesty kick to this cream cheese pickle dip.

Dill: Dill seasoning is superb in this dip! And the co-star of the show. Dill weed or fresh dill can be used in this dip.

Chives: Chives are the perfect garnish for this rich, and creamy pickle dip! I also add a small amount and blend in the dip.

Dippers for Dill Pickle Dip

Ruffled potato chips are perfect for scooping up some dill pickle dip. Not only are they sturdy, but the saltiness pairs perfectly with the creamy dip.

But don’t think you can only serve this dip with chips! Some other delicious options are Triscuit crackers, bagel chips, and pretzel crisps.

For healthy dipping try vegetables like carrot or celery sticks. Even some sliced bell pepper and broccoli are pretty tasty.

Storing Cream Cheese Pickle Dip

If by chance you have any of this delicious dill pickle dip leftover, be sure to store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2-3 days. Over time the dip loses its freshness, so it’s best enjoyed right away.

What Pickles are Best

Let dip marinate in the fridge for 30 minutes before serving.

You may use any style of dill pickles you like. But these are my four favorite crisp dill pickle brands.

Kosher Whole Dill Pickles. Kosher refrigerated whole dill pickles are the best pickles for this cream cheese pickle dip. I used a Meijer store brand in this dill pickle dip.

Milwaukee’s Kosher dill pickles are also a refrigerated crispy pickle and are known for their flavor and crunch. However, use any Kosher whole dill pickle brand readily available at your local grocery store.

Kosher Pickle Spears. Grillo’s pickle spears are crisp dill pickles for this cream cheese pickle dip and pack a pickily punch in every bite.

Claussen Kosher Dill Pickles. According to Kraft Heinz Claussen kosher dill spears go from vine to brine and are pickled under refrigeration.

Which makes Claussen dill pickles superior for taste and crunch. These are the best pickle brand to use if using canned pickles.
