I don’t know about you, but nothing is more satisfying to me than a smooth creamy dip served with fresh vegetables.

While, most store-bought vegetable dips claim to be healthy, that’s usually not the case. Take a look at the nutrition label for yourself.

In my healthy vegetable dip recipe, Greek yogurt serves as the base. And it doesn’t contain any of the usual suspects, like mayo, sour cream or cream cheese!

What this party dip does have is loads of flavor from dill and a few seasonings, along with a tangy bite thanks to a bit of apple cider vinegar.

Once the flavors meld together the result is a delightful veggie dip perfect for adding to vegetable trays and serving at all kinds of parties, potlucks and get-togethers.

Who doesn’t love a good veggie dip that’s actually good for you?

Easy after-school snack. If you’re looking for a healthy after school snack, this yogurt dip is a great option. I just set it out, with some cut up veggies and crackers and before you know it, the kids have gobbled it all up.

I should know, between me and my three boys this veggie dip did not stand a chance!

The longer the dip marinates, the better it tastes, so prepare it the night before school.

Easy to make. This dip is as simple as mixing yogurt with some spices and dill in a bowl. It takes under 10 minutes to prep.

Then, refrigerate it for at least 4 hours so all the yummy flavors meld together.

Ingredients Needed

This vegetable dip is made with just Greek yogurt as the base. So it’s ideal for weight loss and really healthy.

  • Greek Yogurt
  • Apple Cider Vinegar
  • Dill
  • Seasonings

Greek Yogurt – Full-fat Greek yogurt is my yogurt of choice for a creamy texture with lots of body. You can also use reduced-fat Greek yogurt for reduced calories, although the dip won’t be quite as thick.

Either way, Greek yogurt is a healthier dip compared to sour cream or cream cheese that most dips have in them.

Want to add More Protein? Get a full-fat Greek yogurt with added protein. My favorites are OIKOS and OIKOS PRO. OIKOS Plain Blended Greek Yogurt has 18 grams of added protein. And OIKOS PRO has 25 grams of added protein.

Protein is known to aid in weight loss and keep you fuller longer.

However, Greek yogurt with added protein has a slightly earthly taste to it.

So you may need to adjust the taste and add more herbs and seasonings.

Less is more in this situation, add a pinch or two here and there. Sample and then let the dip marinate in the fridge.

Want to make this dip vegan? Make it with a plant-based Greek yogurt alternative or vegan sour cream brands like; Violife, Simple Truth, and Elmhurst Plant-Based sour cream.

Apple Cider Vinegar – A little bit of apple cider vinegar gives this dip some tanginess. Organic apple cider vinegar is my personal choice.

However, you may substitute in the juice of a small fresh lemon (about 4 teaspoons).

Dill – I used dill weed in this vegetable dip recipe with Greek yogurt. You may substitute 1 tablespoon of fresh dill if you would like.

Seasonings – All you need is a pinch of course black pepper, sea salt, onion powder, and garlic powder for a Greek yogurt dip where the flavor is divine.

How to Make Greek Yogurt Vegetable Dip

  1. Combine all ingredients – In a medium sized bowl, add Greek yogurt, seasonings, dill weed, and apple cider vinegar. Stir until well combined.
  2. Chill in the refrigerator – overnight for best taste or 4-8 hours minimum. Serve with veggies, pretzels, or crackers.

Recipe Variations

Spicy – Want to make a spicy Greek yogurt dip? Add smoked paprika, red pepper flakes or a pinch of cayenne pepper.

Also try, a dash of sriracha sauce or your favorite hot sauce.

Ranch – Stir in a packet of ranch seasoning mix, black pepper to taste, and fresh herbs like chives, green onions, or fresh parsley.

Everything bagel seasoning – Make an everything bagel veggie dip.

All you need is a pinch of black pepper the same amount of apple cider vinegar and 2 tablespoons of everything bagel seasoning.

Lemon – For a zestier dip, stir in 4 teaspoons lemon juice and 1 teaspoon lemon zest. Add 3 tablespoons fresh parsley or 3 teaspoons dried parsley.

Chives – If you love chives like me, definitely add them to this Greek yogurt veggie dip.

Stir in 3 tablespoons finely minced fresh chives or substitute 1 teaspoon dried chives seasoning.

More ways to enjoy this vegetable dip

Use it as a spread for bagels.

Why limit this dip to an appetizer? Greek yogurt dill dip is a delicious spread for breakfast bagel sandwiches.

My latest kick has been to put Greek yogurt on an onion bagel instead of cream cheese.

I toss on a few sliced English cucumbers and sprinkle some everything bagel seasoning on top.

When I tell you I have been addicted to this, I mean it.

You might even love this breakfast as much as I do. It’s totally worth trying.

Use it as a dressing for salads.

Toss out unhealthy salad dressings, and give a spoonful or two of this Greek yogurt dip a try on your salad instead.

It’s creamy, way healthier, and a good way to up the protein in your salad.
