Baked Reuben Sliders Recipe
These baked Reuben sliders start with 5 basic ingredients: Hawaiian rolls, Deli style corned beef, Swiss cheese, thousand island dressing, and sauerkraut.
To elevate the flavor, I add a few extras
Here is what you need.
Ingredients & Substitutions
- Hawaiian rolls
- Deli Corned beef
- Swiss Cheese
- Thousand Island Dressing
- Sauerkraut
- Butter
- Garlic Powder
- Onion Powder
- Parsley
Hawaiian Rolls: Are people’s preferred choice when making these mini sandwiches. Some more delicious options are: plain slider buns, pretzel slider rolls, and Angelic Bakehouse Slider Buns.
Deli Style Corned Beef: Get a good quality of corned beef sliced fresh from the deli. Or make homemade corned beef and shred or slice thin.
Swiss Cheese: Is the traditional cheese for Reuben sandwiches. My favorite brand to use is Sargento Baby Swiss Cheese.
Thousand Island Dressing: or Russian dressing can be used to make Reuben sliders. However, my preferred dressing of choice is thousand island.
Sauerkraut: When it comes to picking the best tasting “Kraut” for sliders it is hands down Kedainiu Sauerkraut with Carrots.
Carrots add a delicious flavor and make sure you get a sealed glass jar brand. It is so much better than the kraut that comes in a bag or aluminum can.
Butter: Brush melted butter with seasonings onto sliders the last five minutes for added flavor.
Garlic Powder: For added flavor I sprinkle melted butter with garlic powder. You can also try adding poppy seeds for even more delicious flavor.
Onion Powder: Y’all already know onion powder is used in all of my recipes.
Parsley: I like to add fresh chopped parsley for color.
However this is only if you feel like using or have some parsley already on-hand in your fridge.
Tips For Making the Best Reuben Sliders
For crispy slider rolls that have a soft, but never soggy bottom bun. With a warm, gooey center, and crispy, buttery, top.
Do yourself a favor and drain sauerkraut in a thin colander. Also, layer sliders in this exact order to keep dressing and “kraut” from leaking onto the bottom buns.
Order as follows: Bottom buns, Corned beef, Swiss cheese, thousand island dressing, drained, sauerkraut, and top bun.
For a warm center, cover the baking dish loosely with aluminum foil and bake in the oven for 25 minutes. This warms the middle up and ensures the top bun doesn’t over cook in the oven.
For lots of flavor, melt butter and season with garlic powder, onion powder, and evenly brush top buns.
You may also chop fresh parsley and sprinkle on buns fresh out of the oven for added color and flavor.
For a crispy top bun, Remove aluminum foil and bake in the oven, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 5 minutes or until tops are browned.
